The Squabs That Ate Popcorn

There once was a family of turtles, the Squabs. They were a huge family, containing over three hundred turtles. Robert, the father, was a lawyer and had over three seashells(which was a lot for turtles). Daria, the mother, had the luxury of being able to stay home with all of the children. Robert nor Daria had the time to name all of the children. The children were named by numbers as to when they were born. However, there were two children that had names. Benson, the oldest, was a very handsome turtle with beautiful brown spots. Aiesha, the baby of the family, was an adorable little turtle. Although Benson and Aiesha were only an hour apart, Benson was still two times the size of Aiesha.

This family of turtles all had their likes and dislikes. Some of the children didn’t like vegetables, and some of them did. Most of the children didn’t like to eat squab, because they thought they were eating one of their family members. The only thing the family could agree upon was that they all loved popcorn. Popcorn was the main snack after every meal. This family would go into a large city and steal bags from the humans. Sometimes the humans wouldn’t notice, but a lot of the time the turtles would get shoved away. The Squabs were relentless and would never give up on getting as much popcorn as possible.

One fateful day, the Squabs headed to town to get popcorn. They did their usual routine and split up and walk the town to get as much as possible. One hundred children went North, one hundred went East, one hundred went South, and the parents went West. Usually the parents would find the most popcorn, for the children were too inexperienced to receive a lot. Aiesha was in the group that went East today. Her group was over by all of the restaurants, the gold mine of popcorn. Aiesha wondered by herself over by the movie theater, which always had popcorn crumbs lying around. There was a popcorn bag lying on the ground and Aiesha went to investigate. She crawled in the bag to see if there was any popcorn inside, instead she found the nutrition facts. She began to read what was all inside the very tasty treat. Not only was popcorn very fattening, it was also made of turtles! Aiesha screamed and backed out of the back. She then grabbed the bag and ran as fast as she could, which was pretty slow considering she is a turtle.

Once she got home, she waited patiently for the family to return with all of the popcorn. Once they returned home, Aiesha screamed “YOU GUYS ARE EATING TURTLES!!!!” The family looked confused.

“What do you mean sweetie?” Daria asked. Aiesha just pointed inside the bag and started crying. Daria then went inside the bag and saw the nutrition facts. She then retreated out of the bag and sighed. “Aiesha. It does not say turtles. It simply says hint of butter.” Aiesha then smiled and took a large bite of popcorn. The family then began to eat the popcorn until there was none left.

They then lived on their lives, eating popcorn. THE END.
