Vikings Suffer 4th Loss

The Vikings did not play well against the visiting Carolina Panthers. Starting QB for this game was Matt Cassel. This was just his second start as a Minnesota Viking. He went 32/44 passing with 241 yards, 1 touchdown, and 2 interceptions. Adrian Peterson had 10 carries for a total of 62 yards. Leading receiver, Kyle Rudolph, had 97 yards on 9 receptions with one receiving touchdown at the end of the game. The Vikings will have to play better next Sunday if they hope to win against the New York Giants.

The Panthers played very well against the Vikings. They started out strong with a 14-3 lead at halftime. Then they extended their lead in the second half and pounded the Vikings 35-10. Cam Newton went 20/26 for 242 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also rushed 9 times for 30 yards. DeAngelo Williams had 17 carries for 64 yards. Williams also had 5 catches for 53 yards. Brandon LaFell had 4 catches and a touchdown. Steve Smith also had a touchdown catch. The Panthers are now 2-3 and 2nd in the NFC South Division. They play the St. Louis Rams next week in Carolina.
