By Mike C

The Minnesota Wild lost to the Washington Capitals. They lost in a shootout at the end of the game 1-0. Nicklas Backstrom scored the only goal in the shootout for the Capitals. The Wild coach decided to pull the goalie at the end of the regulation game, so the Wild would get an extra skater. It was no help and the game went into overtime.
The Wild’s next game was against the Carolina Hurricanes. The Wild won 3-2 in Saturday’s game. Jason Pominville scored a goal in regulation, and the game winner in the shootout.
