Indians GBB

By Claire K

The Indian’s girl’s basketball team has a record of 8 and 6. They are on the second round of playing teams. The girls have had some really awesome games so far and are really starting to get a feel of playing with each other and clicking. A few of the games that the girls lost were games that they should have easily won. The reason they lost was because they were not playing as a team and not playing to their full potential. The Indians play their best when they run the court and pass the ball well.

One big issue the girls still sometimes struggle with is turnovers. When the girls play a team that has good pressure defense they tend to turn the ball over a lot more. As the year goes on, the turnover percentage is decreasing. The Indians Sophomore post, Josie, is a huge part of the Indian’s wins this year. She has stepped up and improved greatly from last year. The young eighth grade starter, Sarah, has done some great things for the team and never fails to amaze the team every day with her talent. Mckayla is one of two Junior starters and has the quickest and most accurate shot on the team. She has had some big three point shots for us at the end of some big games. Justine is the other Junior starter who brings the ball up for the team. She drives the ball to the hoop well for the Indians.

Claire is the only Senior this year for the team. The Indians have some great players coming off the bench for the Indians. They give some huge minutes, and the Indians would not have as many wins as they do without every single player playing and giving 100%. You can see a big difference in the way the Indian girls play since the beginning of the season.
