MN Wild Acquire Goalie Ilya Bryzgalov by Brady A
Minnesota Wild have just acquired goalie Ilya Bryzgalov from the Edmonton Oilers for Minnesota’s 4th round draft pick in the 2014 draft pick. The Wild have been struggling lately with goalies. Their starter for several years, Niklas Backstrom, is aging and is now 36 years old. Their new starter, Darcy Kuemper, is only 23 and has been doing very well. Josh Harding was Backstrom’s partner before he found out he had MS and is out indefinitely. Harding’s contract will likely not be renewed. With all of that being said, Minnesota will need a new backup goaltender soon who will more than likely take Backstrom or Harding’s Spot.
