Quote to Think About

By Corrin H

“We all change when you think about it. We're all different all through our lives. And that's okay, that's good. You've got to keeping moving. As long as you remember all the people that you used to be. I will not forget one line of this, not one day. I swear. I will always remember when the Doctor was me.”----- The Time of The Doctor, Doctor Who

Wasn’t that just beautiful? Who knew Doctor Who could teach you so much? People assume it’s just a geeky, Sci-Fi show about a man that travels in time and space. It’s not, though. It is so much more complicated, so much more inspiring, and so much greater.

Wait, sorry, I’m not actually here to talk about the beautiful Doctor Who (which everyone should give a chance). I am here to talk about this quote and what it means.

Have you ever looked at an old picture of yourself, whether it’s from a month or a year ago, and it’s like you’re looking at a completely different person? You know it is you, but it was a different you. You changed: your personality, your looks. You are no where near to who you were in that picture. It’s almost like you’re evolving from events that have happened to you. Maybe you met a person and became more like them by just being around them. Maybe something big happened, like a death of a loved one and you had to change yourself to become stronger.

You change yourself to fit your surroundings and you keep changing as you progress in life. You have to keep moving, as the quote says, but you have to remember who you were. The person you are today is still made of little pieces of people you were. Like a puzzle.

I think I should end on that note before it gets even more confusing. Go and enjoy your life and complete the full puzzle you are meant to be.
