Turkey Hunting by Alex B
Turkey season in Minnesota has 5 seasons, and each season lasts 5 days. My season is the first season, and it starts April 15th. Turkey hunting takes lots of skill. Turkeys roost (sleep) in trees along ravines or steep hills. Every morning, you have to wake up around 4:30, get all of your camo on, and head to the woods. Usually, sitting on the top of the ravine works best for hunting turkeys, because in the morning they fly off the trees and go to the top of the hill to go feed in fields. Having a hen decoy and a call works very well. Turkey hunting is one of the least expensive; all you need is shells, a decoy, a chair, call, shotgun, and camo. You must be covered in all camo otherwise they will see you because they have great sight. Getting to the woods when it is still dark out works best because you can climb the hill and sit on top until the turkeys start gobbling, and you hear where they are. Then you can slowly move closer, but don’t get too close so they hear you or see you.
