For Thanksgiving, we went up to my cousin’s house in Alexandria. They had 9 inches of ice already. So we ate lunch and after we headed out on the ice. We had 6 tip ups set out there for four people. Legally one person can have two lines in the winter so we could have had 8 tip ups out, but we didn't have that many. We spread the tip ups out throughout 100-110 yards or so. We set them up in 17-24 feet of water. The first few flags were little 22 inch pike. My cousin went to check out one of the flags that went up on the tip up. He ended up pulling up a decent 29 inch Northern Pike. That day we got a total of five pike and one largemouth bass. We had 15-20 flags or so go up, but it was 5° that day so we had trouble keeping the holes from freezing over.
