The question is “Why is hunting fun?” and that’s a really good question. It all depends on how you feel about the sport. Most hunters go out hunting to provide food for their family, others go out to enjoy nature with their friends or family, and there are others that go out hunting just to get away from their stressful lives. Personally, I hunt for all those reasons. There is nothing better than waking up and getting to see a beautiful sunrise and watch nature do its thing. Sure, some will say you can watch videos or look at pictures online or in a book, but it’s simply not the same. There’s a feel to everything you do outside. Picture yourself on a nice, sunny, and 75 degree day outside grilling. You can smell the food off the grill, and you can feel how warm and nice it is outside. The birds are chirping while you’re sipping on a cold Coke. Now, if I showed you a picture of a guy grilling outside and drinking a Coke, it’s not the same. Same with hunting; You can’t smell the fresh cut corn field. You can’t feel the nice cool breeze running down your neck while the sun is rising to warm you. And last, but not least, you can’t see the animal(s) that you are hunting or the ones that surround you just doing their part in nature. So if I had to answer the question directly, I’d say it’s all about the experience.
