Why Stephen Curry Is Overrated

By: Zach H
Stephen Curry is perceived by many NBA fans and bandwagoners as being the best player in the NBA, but why is that? Maybe it is because of his ecstatic buzzer beaters, deep three pointers, and flashy handles, but does that really make him the best player in the NBA? Stephen Curry is a point guard and more often than not they are known for getting many assists, along with scoring and defense statistics consisting of a higher number of steals than other positions. It is impressive that Curry has lead his team to a record breaking season, and he leads the league in points per game; however, this season Curry ranks 10th in assists per game, and doesn’t even lead his team. He is 3rd in steals per game, but he is also 39th in steals to turnover ratio. Curry leads the league in field goals made per game, but is 26th in field goal percentage. Shouldn’t the best player in the league lead the league or at least be close to leading the league in key statistical categories? Is Curry really the best player in the league?
