Part of the experience with Halloween are haunted houses. Well, when you go into a haunted house, it may seem funny to you to try to scare or jump out at the actors. The actors that are being paid or volunteering to scare you. When in fact, it’s not funny at all. These actors get severely injured because customers ignore the rules and try to get too close to the actors. Whether because the customers are trying to be funny or they react aggressively when they are scared. These actors injuries range from various bruises to being knocked out cold from customers kicking, biting, or punching them because they are scared or they think it’s funny.
“The actors should understand the risk. Some people react aggressively to being scared and if they don’t realize the risk there, they shouldn’t be scaring people for a living.” While this may be true, the customers that react aggressively should know this and understand that they risk hurting someone going through the haunted house. Someone who is getting paid to scare you, after you have paid to be scared, should not be in fear of potentially getting badly injured. It shouldn’t be the ‘risk’ of the job for the actors. Everyone who goes through a haunted house knows what to expect and the rules are made pretty clear when you enter. If you can’t keep your cool, and know you have the potential to harm others, then I would not suggest going through a haunted house.
