Self-Esteem

By Damian T

Take this into mind, you’re a new person at a new school and are in the hallway. A kid comes up to you and starts making fun of you about how you're dressed or that you're not wearing Nikes or Jordans or whatever it is. What do you do? How do you handle this situation? Here is what my father would have said to me. He would have told me that there are are two ways to take care of it if I'm truly intimidated, and I know I can't stand up physically. Look at them and ask them if they feel better about themselves, wink, and walk away. There is also the way where you stand up and show them you're nothing to mess around with. That doesn't necessarily mean that you take a physical approach, but it also means be ready for it. If you show someone that you're not afraid to stand up for yourself, there’s a 98% chance that they will leave you alone. So if you ever have questions about this subject, then send me a message anonymously.
