Hello. My name is Sheldon. I am a dragon of the flame. I am ruby red with vibrant yellow eyes. I have a very small family. My mom’s name is Carrie, and my dad’s name is Gilbert. Both of my parents are dark maroon with black eyes. They say that I am supposed to look like that, but I’m one of the rare ones that is very bright. There is only a few others that look like me, but they have black eyes. I am the only one with bright yellow eyes. My parents tell me that someday I will look like them and rule the Flame Kingdom. Little do they know that I don’t want to follow in their footsteps.
I want to be the manager of a groovy disco, where dragons come from far away just to dance. I want all dragons to be able to kick back and relax and dance their tails off. I want the floor to change colors and a HUGE disco ball. My best friend Tommy says that it’s a dumb idea. He always tells me that no one would come dance at my disco.
There is an old, run-down building on the south side of the village. Everything about the building is perfect to have a disco in. It’s big, roomy, and has a sun roof. The only problem with the building is that it is right next to Mount Wanahockalugie, the volcano that erupts every three years. The building has never collapsed yet, but it probably will soon, unless I fix it up. I want to reinforce the walls and paint it rainbow.
One day while I was working on the building, Tommy came by and started telling me that I will not be able to pull this off. I started to cry. Why would my bestfriend knock down my dreams? He should believe in my dreams out of anyone. I ran to my house and laid in my bed, crying. I didn’t want to tell my parents about it, so I locked the door and plopped back on my bed.
I began to think… I shouldn’t let anyone knock me down. I should do what I believe in. I got back up, unlocked my door, and ran back to the building to work on it. This time, if Tommy comes, I’m not going to listen to him. I can make this groovy disco, and it will be the best disco in the whole world.
I finished fixing up the outside of the building, now I have to go to the inside. I just gotta take out the floor and put a new one in. I also can’t forget the disco ball. I called some carpenters to help me move the floor and get a new one. Being that my parents are the rulers of the kingdom, I get whatever I want. Once I got the floor in, I went to buy the biggest disco ball and some bright lights. I hung up the disco ball and turned on the lights. My disco is by far the best I have ever seen.
Once I turned on the music, dragons came in left and right and began to boogey. The flashing lights and the disco ball make an excellent touch. Eventually, Tommy walked in and talked to me about the disco. He said it was a stupid idea, but he was proud that I didn’t give up. My parents also came and asked why I never told them about it. They said they would have helped me build it. Everyone was very proud of me and I was proud of myself. My groovy disco turned out great! I am so glad I never gave up on my dream!
