Sleepy Eye Indians traveled to New Ulm last Saturday night to take on the Cathedral Greyhounds of New Ulm. The Sleepy Eye Indians started slow and dug themselves in a deep rut as they were losing 42-0 at halftime. New Ulm only ran several different offensive plays, but it worked successfully as they amassed over 400 rushing yards in this game. On the other side of the ball, Cathedral was shutting down anything the Indians tried doing offensively. The Indians showed some life in the third quarter as they were able to score two touchdowns. Unfortunately it was too little, too late as the Greyhounds cruised to a victory 50-12.
This Friday night the Indians will stay in their own backyard as they take on the Wabasso Rabbits for a homecoming matchup. Wabasso has a record of two wins and one loss this season. If the Indians start as slow this week as they did against Cathedral, it will be a long game for the Indians. Still, expect this Friday night’s game to be a good one.
