Sleepy Eye Indians Football Update

fb.jpg The Sleepy Eye Indians football team is now two games into the season. Unfortunately, they have fallen to 0-2 to start the year. On August 29th, the Indians started off the season at home against the Cedar Mountain-Comfrey “Cougars”. The first half of that game started off promising for the Indians as they were leading 13-6. The Indians showed some miscues offensively and defensively that costed them the game as they went on to lose 22-19. On September 5th, the Indians traveled across the tracks to square up against the three-time defending section champions in the St. Mary’s Knights. Again, the Indians showed a strong first half of the game as they were losing 19-6 at halftime. The story repeated itself again as the Indians went on lose 38-14. Even though the Indians are 0-2, there have been positives to come out of the first two games compared to last year. The Indians have been able to achieve more turnovers and have been putting up a better fight against teams compared to previous years. This upcoming Saturday night, September 13th, the Indians travel to face off against the New Ulm Cathedral “Greyhounds” at 7:00 pm. This will be another tough game for the Indians, but expect them to play a competitive game. Hopefully the Indians can get their first win this Saturday night.
