National Honor Society & Student Council Attend We Day!

By: Kalyn Haas

We Day was a great experience for students to endure! It was amazing to know that the 18,000 students in attendance have done some sort of service project to earn their spot at We Day! It was such a rush to be in such a big place with so many motivated students that plan on making an impact on the world! We experienced so many success stories and what these people had to go through to get where they are now! We also were able to be exposed to some of the many amazing service projects that people all over the world are doing! The one that I love is the Rafiki Bracelets that were sold at the stadium. These bracelets come all the way from Africa where the many Swahili Mamas have been making jewelry to provide for their family. The bracelets costed $10 ($5 to the Mamas who made them, and $5 for the starving children in Africa). It was so simple to go and purchase one, and one little bracelet can impact someone’s life greatly. If you want to donate or buy a Rafiki Bracelet for yourself, then log on to www.metowe.com/waterrafiki.
