Tyus Jones is freshman college basketball player for the Duke Blue Devils. He was the number one ranked point guard and ranked fourth overall in the Class of 2014. He played his high school basketball right here in Minnesota at Apple Valley High School. While at Apple Valley, he played five seasons on varsity and had a total of 1,575 points and 588 assists. As a sophomore in high school, he averaged 28.1 PPG, 4.8 RPG, 8 APG, and 3.4 SPG. Also while at Apple Valley, he won one state championship and the 2014 Minnesota Mr. Basketball Award. He was also a 3 time Minnesota Gatorade Player of the Year. He was a 2014 McDonald’s All American. Tyus played on the 2014 USA U18 basketball team that won a gold medal. He also qualified for the 2015 FIBA U19 World Championship. Tyus Jones is looking to have a great college basketball career and hopefully represent Minnesota in the NBA one day!
