10 Things You Didn’t Know About Mrs. Berkner

  1. Mrs. Berkner cheered for eight seasons all through HS and coached cheer for eight seasons after that. Seven out of the eight seasons she coached at SEPS, the other was at NUPS.
  2. She has been a Knowledge Bowl coach for 12 years.
  3. Hockey and football are her favorite sports to watch.
  4. Mrs. Berkner decided she wanted to be a Spanish teacher her sophomore year of college while she was living in Mexico as a part of an exchange program.
  5. Her favorite snacks are Diet Mtn. Dew and anything with chocolate and caramel.
  6. Her biggest pet peeves are lies and excuses.
  7. Mrs. Berkner’s dream job would still be teaching, but without all of the extra stuff (advisories, meetings, etc.), more prep and grading time.
  8. If she could travel anywhere, she would choose England or Ireland; anywhere out of the country just to see something different.
  9. Mrs. Berkner has lived in Faribault, Northfield, New Ulm, and Sleepy Eye. She was also in two exchange programs to Mexico in college.
  10. She has two daughters: Julia (8) and Taylor (6). They participate in basketball, dance, Girl Scouts, and summer softball. She wants them to experience everything in order to find what interests them.
