SnoCross Round 6

By: Austin
This past weekend was the first weekend back for the Snocross racers and the first race of the 2015 year. The riders were very excited for the new year. They were racing in Shakopee at Canterbury Park. The track was long, but the riders were eager to get back to racing for the 2015 season. The open ceremonies started at 6 p.m. and there were Pro Lite Heat races and Pro Open heats. Once the heat rounds were over, the 120 champ finals were up; they consist of 120cc mod engines. The race started off with everyone side by side, until the final two laps when Tucker H. of Sleepy Eye, who was in fourth place, until the three racers in front of him tipped over. With one lap to go, Tucker held on for the first place finish. The Pro Lite followed with a quick hole shot from Tyler A. of Christian Brothers Racing, but had to battle to keep the lead, but he still finished in first. It was his first win of the season. The Pro Open consists of 600cc mod engines that have the fastest of the fast in them. Kyle P. of Team LaVallee Racing took the Stud Boy hole-shot, held on the whole race, and got his first career Pro Open win. Tucker H., who was chasing his 100th career win, finished in second place.
