I think students will cheat on a test because it is, in their mind, the only way of achieving a good grade. It would really annoy me if someone copied off of me because that person was basically using me to get a good grade. In fact, I wouldn't copy off of anybody for fearing that I would do worse than I had anticipated. Cheating on a test is like cheating in a videogame--fear of failure or if a challenge is too much to bear. In other words, cheating won’t get you good grades because when it comes to the test, you won't know what the test is about, therefore, you fail the test.
