This weekend I got to experience my first time turkey hunting with my buddy Alex B. On the evening before we went out, we went to go scout the land that he gained permission to hunt on. I’ve never hunted turkeys before so I thought that if I got the feel for it with a buddy it would be a better experience than me going out and spending money on it not knowing if I’ll like it or not. So on this hunt I was not able to carry a weapon. I did not purchase a license for this hunt because it is not required. So I sat there and watched, and I’m going to tell you that turkey hunting could be in my top 3 animals to hunt. I mean, sitting in the woods hearing those thunder chickens go off in the morning is something nothing else can compare to. When those turkeys are close enough and they gobble you can almost feel it. I think in the near future I will be hunting these wild birds and taking a few down.
