Vikings Win Final Preseason Game

The Minnesota Vikings played solid and got the win (24-23) at home Thursday night against the Tennessee Titans. McLeod Bethel-Thompson the Viking’s main quarterback went 19/26 for 187 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception. Matt Cassel also completed 3/3 attempts for 48 yards. Joe Banyard had 13 rushing attempts for 62 yards. He also had 7 catches for 54 yards and a touchdown. The highlight of the game for the Vikings was in the 3rd quarter when Marcus Sherels returned a kickoff 109 yards for a touchdown.
The Tennessee Titans’ offense scored 23 points compared to the Vikings’ 24. They had a total of 3 penalties for a combined 20 yards. Quarterback Rusty Smith went 13 for 21 with 178 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Leading rusher for the Titans, Darius Reynaud, had 11 rush attempts for a total of 56 yards. Wide Receiver Rashad Ross had 2 receptions for a total of 64 yards. Ross also had a 50 yard reception in the loss.
The Vikings begin their first regular season game on Monday, September 9 at noon against the Detroit Lions, a classic matchup. Hopefully the Vikings carry momentum from the preseason into the regular season.
