How To Pick The Best Fantasy Baseball Team By: Zach H

1. Draft younger players- If you are trying to decide on whether to draft a 25 year old or a 35 year old, go with the younger one. They are less injury prone and will usually play more.

2. Try to draft all around players- Players who can do anything at an exceptional level will score you more points than one player who can just hit home runs for example.

3. Look for guys with consistent stats- Some players may have one good year, but the next year they may be a bust.

4. Draft young Chicago Cubs players- The Cubs end up with one of the worst records in baseball almost every season, therefore, receiving high draft picks. Higher draft picks = better players.

5. Wait until later rounds to draft pitchers- There are many great pitchers in the MLB, and unless you know you are going to draft this year’s Cy Young winner, you can wait a few rounds before picking one.

6. Look for players that have high OBP (On Base Percentage)- These players get many hits and also draw many walks.

7. Draft Speed over Sluggers- More often than not, there are more players that hit home runs than steal bases. Draft guys that can steal, and pick players who have high numbers in other categories too.

8. Prepare for the draft- Get good sources for projections and consider last years stats as well when drafting a player.

9. Draft players who aren’t on your favorite team- Usually you are biased towards players on your favorite team. Sometimes they just aren’t as good as you think they are.

10. Draft good closers- Closers that get a lot of saves and/or wins can earn you a lot of points.
