Part 3 of our Coolest Jobs series takes us to the Links. If you’ve ever turned on the TV on a Sunday afternoon, then you’ve probably seen professional golf. How cool would it be to live the life of one of these pros? You get to travel the world, experience some of the nicest weather, and make millions (potentially) playing a game that you love. However, like any job, being a professional golfer isn’t all fun and games, even though it can seem like it. Pro golfers put in an insane amount of time practicing their games. Some professionals tell stories of practicing 12 hours a day, six days a week! Of course, these pros that put in the time practicing are the ones that are hoisting the trophies on Sunday nights as well. Being a professional golfer also means spending a lot of time traveling and being away from family. Professional golfers have caddies that help them with their games while playing. They are the helpers while on the course, and they’re also their friends off the course. Many pros spend more time with their caddies than they do with their family; however, family members often come to watch. Being a professional athlete comes with some incredible opportunities. Golfers have even more opportunities than most athletes; they get the chance to travel the world, meet great people, and make money playing sports. That’s why being a professional golfer is one of the Nine Coolest Jobs!
